Gary Gray Stewart
Gary Gray Stewart, 68, of Trafalgar, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.
He was born Jan. 29, 1946, in Flint, Mich., and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Gary’s lifelong passion was working with people. He was a body worker, integrating body, mind and spirit. He was a spiritual mentor to many people throughout his life. He was an avid photographer, a flight instructor, private pilot and adventurer. He enjoyed computer graphics and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Dean Stewart; a daughter, Danielle Murphy (Rod Schuchman); a grandson, Charles Gray Bogan; two great-grandchildren, Claire Joanne and Jordan Gray Bogan; two sisters, Penny Wells (Glen) and Becki Simmons (Gordon); mother-in-law, Marian “Moe” Dean; and brothers-in-law, Jay Dean (Shelley) and Rich Dean (Amy). He was a beloved uncle, cousin and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Imler Burton Cronkright; his mother, Mae Elaine (Gray); and his stepdad, John Daniel Stewart.
A celebration of life service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Mount Auburn United Methodist Church, 3100 W. Stones Crossing Road, Greenwood. (Please use entrance No. 4 on the west side of the church building.) Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Arrangements were entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or to Seasons Hospice, Indianapolis.
