Fanetta ‘Faye’ Johnson

Fanetta “Faye” Johnson, 79, Greenwood, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014.

She was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Nashville, to the late Omar and Alta Clark Schrougham. Faye married Wilbur Ray Johnson on Nov. 6, 1954, in Brown County; and he survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Rene (Kerry) Lowdermilk, Debra Shepherd, Kim (Ray) Irvin and Lori (Rich) Woehlke; a son, J. Todd (Brandy) Johnson; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Eva (Floyd) Ford; two brothers, Pete (Doris) Schrougham and Max (Veda) Schrougham; and a sister-in-law, Arthella Manning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers, Ralph, Clovis, Raymond, Warren and Merrill Schrougham.

Faye had been employed several years as a salesperson at Bargain Bob’s Shoes. Her hobbies included bingo, gardening, crocheting and being an avid Indiana University fan, particularly of Bob Knight.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, Greenwood.
