Harold D. Gard
Harold D. Gard, 83, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.
He was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Lafayette to the late Clarence and Emma Gard.
Harold is survived by his wife, Margaret Neff Gard; two sons, Brad (Karen) Gard and Rick (Allyson) Gard; four grandchildren, Abigail, Danielle, Amanda and Cody; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Kronk.
Harold married Margaret on Aug. 24, 1957, after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1954.
The last job he held before retirement was a pneumatic controls systems foreman at Johnson Controls, at which time he played an integral role in installing the controls system in the Hoosier Dome.
After retirement, Harold enjoyed working in the garden, going on road trips with his wife and family and doing handyman projects around the house.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Stones Crossing Church, 7000 W. Stones Crossing Road, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
