Curtis Dale Fleener
Curtis Dale Fleener, 66, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in Greenwood. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born Nov. 16, 1947, in Martinsville to Harry Franklin and Zetta Marie (Strange) Fleener.
He married Doris (Caldwell) Fleener on Aug. 18, 1967. She lovingly survives in Franklin.
He also is survived by children, Deborah (Keith) Canfield of Indianapolis, Darlene (Nick) Humphrey of Ringgold, Ga., Dana (George) Canfield of Dupont and Dale Fleener of Franklin; grandchildren, Kyle (Allyson) Humphrey, Nicole Humphrey, Noah Humphrey and Brian Canfield; two brothers, Dan (Lynn) Fleener of Louisana and Don (Carol) Fleener of Franklin; and one sister, Carol Sibbald of Greenwood.
He was preceded in passing by his parents.
Curtis was a 1966 graduate of Franklin Community High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was employed by Standard Grocery for many years and later worked for Marsh supermarket for several more years.
Curtis coached Little League in Franklin for 20 years, which he truly enjoyed. Curtis loved watching sports, including football, NASCAR, golf and wrestling. His most enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Tim Fleener will conduct a service of celebration at 11 a.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
