Jack B. Morris, 93, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014. He was a resident of of Indianapolis.
He was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Mounds, Okla., to the late Walter L. Morris and Nina M. (Buckles) Morris. He was raised in Hartford City and graduated from Hartford City High School in 1938 and Ball State Teachers College in 1942.
After college, he joined the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He married the late Judith A. Newbauer in Hartford City in 1947 and resided in Indianapolis, moving to Carmel in 1963.
For most of his working years, he was self-employed as a wholesaler of electronic and television parts, having locations in Indianapolis, Shelbyville and Kokomo. Upon retirement, he and Judith made their home in Cape Coral, Fla.
He is survived by his children, Linda S. (Morris) Pastorino and Jay N. Morris; grandchildren, Anthony A. Pastorino, Angela M. (Pastorino) Flauaus, Tyler A. Morris, Gwynne A. Morris and Austin N. Morris; and seven great-grandchildren.
Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Murat and Araba Shrine temples, and the Elks Lodge.
A memorial service will be conducted later this year. Date, time and place will be determined.
Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, in Indianapolis.
