Phyllis Jo Burke
Phyllis Jo (Hill) Burke, 67, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born Sept. 15, 1946, in Coopersville, Ky., to Alfred Hill and Ora Marie (Bell) Edwards.
She married Wilford Lester Burke, who lovingly survives in Franklin.
Other survivors include one daughter, Leslie Ann Burke; grandchildren, Natalie Clements, Christopher Clements, Hilary Zeigler, Morgan Campbell and Kylie Campbell; and two sisters, Joan Vaughn of Stearns, Ky., and Linda Branscum of Franklin.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; and a brother, Jim Hill.
Phyllis was employed by Sambo’s in Franklin and later at the House of Franklin for many years.
She enjoyed reading. She also truly enjoyed her shopping trips each week with her sister, Linda. Phyllis so enjoyed and loved spending time with her husband, daughter and grandchildren, who all were the love of her life.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends also may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home, 647 N. Main St., Monticello, Ky. A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in Monticello, Ky. Burial will be at John Barr Cemetery in Coopersville, Ky.
