Emmett E. Haile
Emmett E. Haile, 75, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at his residence in Franklin.
He was born July 30, 1938, to the late Herbert H. and Leota Grace (Burnett) Haile. He married Kathryn (Kitchen) Haile on Sept. 28, 1957. She survives.
Other survivors include three children, William (Tina) Haile of Canton, Ill., Herbert Haile of Trafalgar and Karen (Theodore) Danner of Beardstown, Ill.; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Richard Haile of Canton, Ill., and Roy Haile and Phyllis Smyth, both of California.
He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen and Carolyn; and a brother, Herbert.
He was a foundry worker with International Harvester/Navistar, retiring in 1993 after 30 years.
He had been a member of Beacon Baptist Church of Shelbyville for 22 years. He was also with Unity in Christ Church for three years and more recently attended Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin.
He coached Little League baseball for 20 years and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He loved bowling, drinking coffee and watching sports on television. He and Kathryn enjoyed buying and fixing up homes in which they lived.
He was an avid Colts, Pacer and Cubs fan.
Fred Brown will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County, with military services conducted by veterans organizations.
