Michael W. Wadsworth
Michael W. Wadsworth, 56, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013.
He was born in Indianapolis to Silvia and the late Ralph Wadsworth. He attended Thomas Carr Howe High School, Indiana University, Cornell University and Dale Carnegie.
He founded and was the president/CEO of Wadsworth Vending, Mijan Bootery, Red Line Graphics, Wadsworth Realty and M W Wadsworth and Company Fine Chocolates. During the more than 22 years of growing Red Line Graphics, it ranked as high as the fourth-largest printing company in Indiana. Additionally, he acquired 23 different companies including print, promotional products, apparel and signage manufacturers.
Michael was deeply involved in the community, volunteering for the Roncalli High School Board of Directors, Franklin College Advisory Board, South Stars Hockey Association, SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church and Perry Township Civic Association.
He enjoyed flying Cessna planes, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, snow skiing and spending time at his vacation home on Put-in-Bay, Ohio.
Michael is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Janet Sokolowski Wadsworth; his twin children, Jennifer Lynne and Ryan Lee; daughter-in-law, Emily Smith Wadsworth; and his granddaughter, Ava Marie Wadsworth.
Additionally he is survived by his mother, Silva; brothers, Kevin, Ted and Ralph; and sister, Pam.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; and a brother, Jerry.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135.
In lieu of flowers, Michael and his family would appreciate donations made in his name to the Miles for Myeloma foundation based out of Indianapolis.
