Judith Catherine Carroll

Judith Catherine Carroll, 79, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, due to complications of recovery from cardiac surgery.

Judith was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on Oct. 11, 1934, to John Henry Osterhaus and Vitalis Osterhaus.

She attended school at Messmer High School in Milwaukee and married John Thomas Carroll Jr. on Oct. 27, 1957, in Milwaukee.

Judith was employed by Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee as a medical transcriptionist until her marriage.

She was a dedicated and supportive wife and mother.

In her later years, she participated in and held officer positions for several volunteer organizations, including the Farmington Woods Homeowners Association, Cary Women’s Club and Cary Senior Center.

Judith was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Osterhaus; her mother, Vitalis Osterhaus; sister, Ruthann Schnackenberg; and husband, John Thomas Carroll Jr.

Judith is survived by her sons, John Thomas (Debbie) Carroll III, Michael Jude (Robyn) Carroll and Daniel Charles (Keri) Carroll. Additional survivors include sister, Faith (Joseph) Davis of Muk-

wonago, Wis.; and six grandchildren, Michael James, Andrew Thomas, Steven Charles, Eileen Frances, John Thomas IV and Michael Thomas.

The family of Judith Carroll wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis for their great care and attention, with special thanks to Dr. Marc W. Gerdisch and his associates at Cardiac Surgery Associates for their skill, experience and tireless care provided to Judith. The family also would like to extend special thanks to Father Vincent Lampert and the parish of SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church of Greenwood for their many prayers and support.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church, 5901 W. Olive Branch Road, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until Mass time Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood, IN 46143.
