Carl M. Black
Carl M. Black, 84, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Liberty, Ky., to the late Willie and Sophie (Tarter) Black. He married Dorlis (Burton) Black on May 2, 1953. She preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 2007.
Survivors include children, Carlis (Jessie) Black and Carol (Jack) McTarsney, both of Franklin, and Connie (Jerry) Hogue of Bargersville; six grandchildren;
11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; siblings, Lewis Black of Russell Springs, Ky., Earl Gene Black of Parksville, Ky., and Ralph Black of Edinburgh.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Fred, Robert and Glen Black, Marie Lawson and Elizabeth Roy.
He attended Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church and was retired from Arvin’s in Franklin.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and traveling.
The Rev. Guy Hardin will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church, 905 S. Main St. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery.
