Robert Hickman

Robert L. “Bob” Hickman, 86, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, 2013, at the Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Bob was a lifelong resident of Morgantown.

He was born on Sept. 13, 1927, in Morgantown to his parents, the late Harry and Bertha (Voyles) Hickman.

He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Hickman; one brother, Richard Hickman; and a sister, Alice Van Winkle.

Bob is survived by two sons, Steve Hickman and Michael Hickman, both of Morgantown; two daughters, Marsha Martin of Athens, Ga., and Mary Lou Lucas of Wilbur; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was eager to follow in his brother’s footsteps and entered into the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Wisconsin during World War II. Although Bob did not see action, he was very proud to serve his country.

He was self-employed and was a partner with his brother, Richard, in Hickman Trailer Sales for 18 years in Morgantown.

Bob was a very generous person who helped many people in the small community of Morgantown. He loved his family and considered his friends his family as well. Bob will be missed by many and remembered by even more.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held for those remaining family members at a later date. His wishes were to be cremated and to remain in this small town that he has known and loved all of his life. His family will fulfill those wishes.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
