Clark S. Scherer Jr.

Clark S. Scherer Jr., 77, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at his home in Greenwood. He was a former resident of Morgantown.

Clark was born in Morgantown on Nov. 7, 1936, to his parents, the late Clark S. and Ruth     McDowell) Scherer Sr. He enjoyed his childhood by hanging out at his parents’ drugstores and soda fountains that they owned in Morgantown, Trafalgar and Bargersville during the 1950s.

Clark was a 1954 graduate of Morgantown High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in pre-law from Franklin College in 1959. He served as a private with Company E, 152nd Infantry, of the 38th Infantry Division of the Indiana National Guard.

Clark retired in 2013 as owner and operator of Clark S. Scherer & Associates, where he worked as a certified real estate appraiser and independent real estate broker for more than 43 years.

He was a member of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors and the Indiana Real Estate Appraisers Board.

Clark was also a member of the Morgantown High School Alumni Association and the Martinsville Elks. He was a fan of Indiana University basketball, Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts. He was an avid reader and enjoyed doing genealogy.

The Rev. Andy Kinsey will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church, 1300 E. Adams Drive, Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center in Morgantown.

Memorial contributions may be sent in honor of Clark to the Morgantown High School Alumni Association, scholarship fund, P.O. Box 308, Morgantown, IN 46160.
