Mary Jane Dodd

Mary Jane Dodd, 86, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at the Franklin United Methodist Community.

She was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Lawrence County to Elsworth and Florence (Smedley) Wright. She married Albert H. Dodd. He preceded her in passing in 1990.

Survivors include a son, Lennis “Dean” Brown (Patty) of Franklin; grandchildren, Michael Brown (Debbie), Jeffrey Brown, Danielle Walters (Mike), Christy Payne (Rodney) and Eric Kenzel; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Dylan, Alyx (Riley), Caitlin, Ty Albert, Damian, Drew, Dustin, Brady, Cliff and Josh; great-great-grandchildren, Landon, Gunner, Caleb, Aubrey, Peyton, Jason and Eddie; a brother, Robert Wright; and two sisters, Carolyn Reynolds (David) and Naomi Vandygriff.

She was preceded in passing by a son, Henry “Butch” Brown; and two brothers, Ernie and Paul Wright.

Mary Jane was employed at Johnson Memorial Hospital. She began her career in the housekeeping department and later worked in medical records, retiring after 42 years of dedicated service.

Mary Jane enjoyed spending her time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She loved to garden and enjoyed her yard work. She loved animals of all kinds and thoroughly enjoyed her pets.

A service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
