Karen M. Nickell-Kent
Karen M. Nickell-Kent, 50, passed away Nov. 2, 2013, in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Greenwood.
Karen was born May 29, 1963, in Dayton, Ohio.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Mount Saint Joseph and a master’s degree from University of Phoenix in computer technology.
She had been employed with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles for three years and for the last year with DotStaff in Castleton.
She enjoyed gardening and playing with her dog, Soxx.
Karen loved being a mom and spending time with her daughter, Chesley, and her friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Chelsey Kent of Greenwood; parents, Jimmy and Wilma (Harbor) Nickell of Ohio; close friend, Irene Marr of Greenwood; and longtime childhood friend, Ellen, of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmer and Mabel Harbor and Arnold and Lana Nickell.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
