Martha L. Butler, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013.
Born June 3, 1928, in Albuquerque, N.M., she was the daughter of the late James T. and Eleanore (Sadler) Anderson.
She married Fay S. Butler on Sept. 1, 1944.
Martha worked as a school system accountant for several years.
She was active with the Women’s Missionary Union of the Southern Baptist Convention. She and her husband founded Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood in 1963.
She is survived by three sons, James (Bobbi) Butler, Stephen (Sandra) Butler and Nathan (Terry) Butler; two daughters, Kathleen Butler and Joy (Ronald) Clark; two sisters, Rusty Starks and Gretchen Lundell; and 65 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a daughter, Margaret Sue Leftwich.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, 375 E. Southport Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.
