Juanita Laurene Barton
Juanita Laurene Barton, 67, of Bargersville, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 23, 1945, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, to William Bryan Long and Marie Watkins Long.
She married Robert N. Barton on June 6, 1965, in Terre Haute. He survives.
She was a 1963 graduate of Wiley High School in Terre Haute.
She was mostly a stay-home mom with periods as a licensed beautician, restaurant manager and office manager.
She had been a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader, Pike Township Girl Scout chairwoman, Cub Scout troop leader, Pike Township Cub Scout chairwoman and girls softball coach.
Surviving are her husband, Robert N. Barton of Bargersville; four children, Gregory (Stacia) Barton of Franklin, Lorie (Les) Ayres of Wanamaker, Daniel (Julie) Barton of Avon and Tracy (Jon Mahall) Barton of San Diego; grandchildren, Donald (Sarah) Barton of New Whiteland, Ben (Brittany) Barton and Nick (Kristen) Barton, both of Franklin, Chelsea (Brandon Ellaby) Barton of Indianapolis, Haley Barton of Avon, Adam Cunningham of Kennard and Jacob Cunningham of Wanamaker; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Kaitlyn and Realynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Marie Long; a grandson, Daniel Brian Gray; and two sisters, Delores Eads and Loretta Conley.
A service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time Thursday at the mortuary. Final resting place will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
