George Stilabower, 81, of Franklin, died at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013.
He was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Edinburgh to the late Lawrence H. and Mary Fay (Wright) Stilabower.
He married Mary Ellen (Freeman) Stilabower on Sept. 2, 1956. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, George Freeman Stilabower of New York, N.Y., Elizabeth Ellen (Bill) Booth of Massillon, Ohio, and Stacie Anne Hindman of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Stilabower and Martha Alice Stilabower.
He graduated from Edinburgh High School in 1950.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin, as well as of the Kiwanis Club, Franklin Elks Club and Franklin American Legion Post 205.
He was retired from L.S. Ayres in Indianapolis after working in sales for 21 years. He also worked in sales for 10 years for Standard Oil Co.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral home, 302 Main Cross St., Edinburgh, with the Rev. John Eley officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
