Joann Henry Hendricks
Joann Henry Hendricks, 78, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, from head injuries she received in a fall at her home.
She was born to the late Fred and Mary (Haverstick) Henry on April 14, 1935.
She and her husband, Donald R. Hendricks, were married for 59 years. He survives.
In early years, she was employed at Farm Bureau Insurance and retired around 1989 from Whiteland Elementary School, where she worked in the cafeteria.
She was a loyal member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church for 58 years. She enjoyed her church so much, where she had served as a deacon, received much enjoyment from her Fidelis Sunday school class and would be seen for many years working in the pie room at the annual Hopewell Church Corn Roast.
She truly loved life and will be missed so very much by her church and many friends she had.
She loved cross-stitching and being outdoors with her flowers and garden and did not like a weed growing anywhere.
Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Hendricks; two daughters, Cheryl Lynn Hillock and Beth Ann Hendricks; grandchildren, Matthew David (Alisa) and Andrew Paul (Cheryl) Hillock, Cara Joann (Jeremy Lee) Smith, Zachary Thomas Brown and Jacob Daniel Brown; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Katie Hillock, Kaylee and Branden Hillock, Johnathen Hillock and Carlee Jo Lee.
She was preceded in passing by her parents and a son-in-law, John E. Hillock Jr.
