Keith James Lyon
Keith James Lyon, 66, of Franklin, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
He was born Dec. 16, 1946, in Los Alamos, N.M., to James M. Lyon and Anna (Kaylor) Lyon.
He was a 1966 graduate of Franklin Community High School.
Keith retired in 2009 after 42 years at Allison Transmission division of General Motors in Indianapolis.
He loved his Corvettes and was a longtime member of the Hoosier Corvette Club. He loved to shop at flea markets and work in the yard and had a passion for his sheltie dogs.
Survivors include his son, Nathan Lyon of Franklin; two stepdaughters, Jill (Tommy) Thompson of Greenwood and Jenny (Rick) Ferguson of Mooresville; a stepson, Jody Coffman of Whiteland; two brothers, Darrel (Linda) Lyon and Larry Lyon, both of Greenwood; two sisters, Wanda (Leslie) Smith of North Little Rock, Ark., and Pam (Steve) Bright of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Linwood and Mike Lyon; and his parents.
The Rev. Woodrow Church will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be at the Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery in Greenwood.
