Joyce M. Mattingly
Joyce M. (Haskell) Mattingly, 79, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
She was born Sept. 26, 1934, in Morgantown, the daughter of Edward and Pearl Mae (Jacobs) Slinger. She married James R. Mattingly on Sept. 10, 1952.
Joyce worked for Mattingly Shell as a bookkeeper for more than 30 years. She enjoyed reading, cross-stitching and spending time with her family.
She is survived by five children, Pam (Marvin) Guffin of New Palestine, Penny Ann Vinson of Franklin, Cindy (Scott) Splichal and Patrick Mattingly, both of Indianapolis, and Christine Vinson of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, James (Barbara) Haskell of Welaka, Fla.; a sister, Delores (Richard) Williams of Oaklandon; nine grandchildren, Amy Capozzi, Josh Guffin, Derek Guffin, Ryan Splichal, Krystal Baker, Eric Splichal, J.P. Mattingly, and Brody and Jordan Vinson; and five great-grandchildren, Bri-Anna, Hallie, Alayna, Devon and Layla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mattingly; her parents, Edward and Pearl Mae Slinger; a brother, Joseph Haskell; and two sisters, Louise List and Margie Haskell.
A celebration of life gathering will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory, 1484 U.S. 40 West in Greenfield.
