Donald L. Steffen

Donald L. Steffen, 88, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

He was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Indianapolis to the late Lynn Thomas and Eugenia (Adams) Steffen.

He is survived by three daughters, Anita (Jim) Carter, Janet (Tom) Jackson and Ethelyn (Herbert) Schlueter; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Waggoner) Steffen, on April 18, 2009; a son, Kenneth Lee Steffen, on July 23, 1998; two brothers; and one sister.

Donald was in the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.

He was a member of the 10th Mountain Division Midwest Chapter and the Brookhaven Euchre Club.

He retired after 30 years from Daum Trucking.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Donald will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
