Donald Lee “Jack” Trinkle, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Greenwood, passed away at the age of 80 on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 in Indianapolis.
He was born on Nov. 7, 1932 in Patriot to Vernon and Hazel Trinkle.
He was married to Nancy Martin for 31 years before her passing. He was formerly married to Retta Parrott and JoAnn Nipper.
He was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955, and a member of the Indiana Reserve for an additional four years. He worked at Citizens Gas for more than 30 years. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and Moose Lodge. He was an avid golfer, hunter, bowler, and fisherman, and a pitcher in fast pitch softball in his younger years.
He is survived by sons, Keith (Karen) Trinkle, and Greg Harris; daughters, Mindi (Steve) Jones, Dawn Reynolds, and Denise Ransom; grandchildren, Chelle Ransom, Lisa Phillips, Leila Phillips, James Gunter, Randi Reynolds, Jessica Harris, Kyle Jones, and Robin Jones; and brother, Edward Trinkle.
He was preceded in death by brother, Randall, sisters Vera Price, Jane Mays, and Libby White, and daughter Robin.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
