Conrad B. Gilliland
od, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013.
He was born March 24, 1943, in Danville, Ill., a son of Conrad L. and Aida N. (Hart).
Survivors include his wife, Betty; a son, Bill (Angie) Gilliland; a sister, Marilla Bottomley; and two grandchildren, Grace and Sophie Gilliland.
Conrad served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1970. He attended Eastern Illinois University. Conrad owned The Flower Nook in Fowler from 1972 to 1989 and worked at the Indiana Department of Education as a school lunch division computer consultant from 1981 to 2009. He was a member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church and enjoyed golfing and computer programming. Conrad twice received the Sagamore of the Wabash award.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Greenwood Presbyterian Church, 102 E. Main St. The Rev. Cheryl Montgomery will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St., and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
