Lois Slightom, 86, of Franklin, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.
She was born Jan. 2, 1927, in Indianapolis, to the late Arville and Daisy (Whiteford) Cambridge.
Lois married Arthur F. Slightom on June 12, 1946, in Indianapolis; and he preceded her in death Dec. 10, 2006.
She was an office manager for Dr. Peter H. Cahn for 20 years, retiring in 1985.
Lois was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church and American Guild of Organists. She was an organist for various churches for more than 40 years.
Lois is survived by two sons, Alan (Beth) Slightom of Indianapolis and Daniel (Laurie) Slightom of Franklin; a daughter, Ellen Ray of Irvine, Calif.; grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Henley, Alan (Jen) Gore, Emily (Kyle Anderson) Ray, Andrew (Melissa) Slightom, Daniel (Megan) Slightom, Sarah (Vamsi Vallurupalli) Slightom, Arthur Slightom and Benjamin Slightom; and six great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Charles and Edward Cambridge; and two sisters, Esther Sudkamp and Floy Wheatley.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, Greenwood.
