Clarence Lee Nalley
Clarence Lee Nalley, 77, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at his residence in Hickory, N.C..
Born Aug. 14, 1936, in Indiana, he was the son of the late Robert Nalley and Iona Cline Nalley.
Mr. Nalley was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served in the Korean War. Later in his life, he was a member of Conover Masonic Lodge.
In his younger years, Mr. Nalley enjoyed deer hunting and, later in life, listening to gospel music as he hummed and sang along.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lee Nalley; a brother, Sam Nalley; and a sister, Vivian Banks.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 24 years, Joyce Stilwell Nalley; daughter, Kimberly N. Hendricks and husband, Danny, of Danville; brother, Eddie Dean Nalley and wife, Joyce, of Franklin; sisters, Opal Duke and husband, Marvin, of Castle Rock, Colo., Wilma Purdy of Franklin and Ruth Rairdon of Shelbyville; and his two very special dogs, Sugar and JT.
A service of remembrance will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home, 940 29th Ave. NE in Hickory, N.C., with the Rev. Ben Rowe officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Catawba County Humane Society, P.O. Box 63, Hickory, N.C. 28603.
