Colin Edwin Rhynes, 67, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.
He was born in Binfield, England, on Jan. 10, 1946, to John Nelson Rhynes and Joyce Edna Mae Mills Rhynes. Mr. Rhynes was a firefighter with the Beech Grove Fire Department for 30 years, retiring in 2001.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John K. Rhynes.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Rhynes; four daughters, Tracie Schmith, Amanda Tweedy, Melinda Rhynes and Michelle Curry; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Shirley Clark and Linda Scott; and a brother, Bill Rhynes.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St. (U.S. 31 South), Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Wanamaker.
