Robert “Bob” W. Clayton, 48, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013. He was a resident of Edinburgh.
He was born Aug. 6, 1965, to Patricia (Minor) Skaggs and Robert Earl Clayton. He married Sherry Lynn (Young) in 1985.
Survivors include his wife; mother; children, Robert Allan “Bobby” and Rebecca Meredith Clayton, both of Greenfield; siblings, Todd (Andrea) Clayton of St. Paul and Sherry M. Halverson of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his father; and stepfather, James Skaggs.
He had worked in maintenance at Hancock County Jail and in the accounting department for Agri-Tronix in Franklin.
He graduated from Indian Creek High School in 1983 and received his associate degree from Vincennes University in laser optics. He was a member of Fair Haven Christian Church in Trafalgar.
Bob was an avid NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. being his favorite driver. He loved to talk politics, and as a staunch conservative Ronald Reagan was his hero. Bob was a devoted father, son, brother and uncle.
Stan Icenogle will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
