Mr. Duane “Wayne” Taylor, 60, of Valley, Ala., died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Carol Taylor; two daughters, Brandi (Randall) Kirk of Lanett, Ala., and Chastity Taylor of Indiana; three sons, Charles (Tammy Sanders) Hewitt of Valley, Ala., Jason (Brandy) Hewitt of West Point, Ga., and Joseph (Marisa Sellers) Hewitt of Valley, Ala.; grandchildren, Lana Ashlyn Hewitt, Britley Hewitt, Landon Duane Kirk, Brooklyn Hewitt, Nicholas Hewitt, Lexi Sanders, Levi Sanders, Kennedy Sanders, Dillion Nelson, Brooklyn Nelson and Cierra Kirk; brothers, Roger Taylor, Danny Taylor, Timmy Taylor and LeRoy Taylor, all of Indiana; sisters, Shelia and Vicky of Indiana; and his mother, Frances Fannon of Indiana.
He was born July 15, 1953, in Franklin.
Mr. Taylor retired as a supervisor from Lanett (Ala.) Housing Authority.
He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and playing the guitar and singing. He was an avid Auburn (Ala.) University football fan. He enjoyed yard sales and flea markets. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers, horseback riding and working on classic cars.
Mr. Taylor especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his dad, John Taylor; and his stepdad, Bill Fannon.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. today at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel, 3700 20th Ave., Valley, Ala., with the Rev. Roger Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lanett, Ala.
