James Louis Deck
James Louis Deck, 78, of Greenwood, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013.
He was born Sept. 18, 1935, in Logansport to the late Edwin L. and Alice (Butler) Deck.
He worked as a technician at Rolls-Royce before retiring.
James was a member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church, where he had been an Outstanding Presbyterian Senior. In his retirement, he coordinated the church’s blood drives and was involved in Meals on Wheels.
He was an entrepreneur, but his greatest accomplishments were his four children.
James traveled to the Grand Canyon on several occasions and also enjoyed the Blue Ridge Parkway. In October 2007, he was able to be joined by his entire family on his last trip to the Grand Canyon.
He is survived by his wife, Roma (Tredup) Deck; children, Debbie (Jeff), Lynnette (Terry), Brad (Debbie) and Lincoln (Jenn); sister, Kris (Stan) Henderson; brother-in-law, Bill Fulmer; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Liz Fulmer.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Main St.
