Linda S. (Leckemby) Landis, of Morgantown, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at her lake home to the peaceful sound of flowing water overlooking her rose garden.
She was born on March 2, 1953, in San Joaquin Valley Fresno, Calif., to George and Mona Jeanne Leckemby, both deceased.
Linda was employed for 33 years at Landis Painting Co. Inc. of Greenwood. She is a member of Hoosier Harvest Church in Martinsville. Her passion for life was to live simply, love deeply, serve faithfully, speak kindly, travel light, pray daily and leave everything else to God.
Linda is survived by her husband, David Landis, Jr.; sisters, Pat Nabors and Michelle Woods of Fresno, Calif., and Connie Price of Paso Robles, Calif.; sisters in Christ, Rita S. Pottorff of Morgantown and Mary Catherine Sickels of Whiteland; goddaughters, Amanda (Palmer) Walton and Kelly Palmer of Plainfield; brother, James Dale Leckemby of California, and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by the apple-of-her-eye grandmother, Eva Mildred Shade.
A memorial service will be at
3 p.m. Sept. 29, 2013 at Hoosier Harvest Church, 4085 Leonard Road, Martinsville.
In lieu of flowers, Linda requested that all contributions be made to Hoosier Harvest Church-Children’s Ministry in care of the funeral home.
Funeral Arrangements are being handled by the Southern Indiana Cremation Society, LLC.
