Virginia Whatley, 79, passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at the Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born on Nov. 27, 1933, in Eaton, Ohio to Floyd and Opal (Carmack) Morris.
She married Sam Whatley.
She is survived by son, Patrick (Connie) Powlen of Edinburgh; daughter-in-law, Debbie Powlen of Trafalgar; grandchildren, Angela (Scott) Barriger, Kari (Michael) Boerner of Franklin, and Larry (Cari) Brown and John (Katy) Brown, both of Greenwood; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Sam; and son, Michael Powlen.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
