Gregory L. “Greg” Schilling, 65, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013. He was a resident of Greenwood.
He was born Sept. 11, 1948, in Aurora, Ill., to the late Charles and Esther (Carpenter) Schilling.
He married Patty Schilling on Dec. 6, 2008; and she survives. He also is survived by a son, Peter (Tricia) Schilling; a daughter, Stephanie (Chris) Ratay; two stepsons, Travis (Kristina) Fuchs and Jason (Jennifer) Fuchs; grandchildren, Jacob, Emma and Alex Schilling, Kate, Ben, Nick and Matt Ratay, and Carter, Taylor, Nicholas, McKenzie and Hailey Fuchs; and a sister, Gail Fisher.
Greg retired as a police officer from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department in 1987 and later was a manager for IT at Dorel Juvenile Group. He was a member of SS. Francis & Clare Catholic Church.
A Mass will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at SS. Francis & Clare Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Greg will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Memorial contributions are suggested to SS. Francis & Clare Catholic Church or IU Simon Cancer Center, office of gift development, 1110 W. Michigan St., LO 506, Indianapolis, IN 46202-5100.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel.
