Trula J. “Trudy” Legan
Trula J. “Trudy” Legan, 76, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, in Indianapolis. She was a resident of New Whiteland.
Trudy was born Aug. 30, 1937, in Indianapolis. Her parents were Irma Sadie (Roberts) Burchfield and Francis Burchfield.
She married her loving husband of 57 years, Wm. E. “Eddie” Legan, on Dec. 1, 1956. He survives in New Whiteland.
Other survivors include one sister, Pat Kalena of Gosport; children, Stephen (Jenifer) Legan of Greenwood, Duane (Betty) Cary of North Carolina, Daniel (Becky) Legan of Lebanon, Rebecca Legan of Indianapolis and Dawn (Jim) Grant of Franklin; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in passing by her parents.
Trudy was a 1956 graduate of Nineveh High School.
She was a loving mother and homemaker. She worked for Koch News as a receptionist and later retired from Indiana Periodicals in 1993.
She was a former member of Glenns Valley United Methodist Church.
A service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
