Nancy Leora (Barrow) Crist
Nancy Leora (Barrow) Crist, 83, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, in Franklin surrounded by her loving family. She went home to her God and her loving husband. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family and all who knew her.
She was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Franklin to Ruby Susan (Collins) Barrow and Walter Wilson Barrow.
She married James Alex Crist on Feb. 26, 1950. He preceded her in passing April 10, 2005.
Nancy is survived by five daughters, Deborah K. Crist, Bonnie D. (Darren) Thompson and Pamela J. (Joe) Ault, all of Franklin, Teresa L. (Jay) Musselman of Jamestown and Nancy M. (Doug) Dickinson of Bargersville; 12 grandchildren, Ericka, Stacey, Kelly, Justin, Becky, Jordan, Jason, D.J., Emily, Haley, Kyle and Kevin; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Gabrielle, Maci and Cassidy; and one brother, Donald Barrow.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Sarah Barrow.
Nancy attended Edinburgh schools and graduated from Franklin High School. She attended Franklin College.
Nancy was a homemaker.
She was a longtime member of Shiloh Community Church. She was a member of the Iris Society. For many years, she was involved in the Ridge Riders Saddle Club, Smith Valley Saddle Club and the Boots and Saddles Club. She was involved with the Johnson County 4-H Club and the Homemakers Club. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Square Dancing Club.
The Revs. Dan Jepsen and Ron Ellis will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
