Mary Frances (Pangborn) Pelton
Mary Frances (Pangborn) Pelton, 80, of Franklin, passed away Aug. 22, 2013.
She was born April 24, 1933, in Chicago, to Frank Leroy and Anna Mae (Arbogast) Pangborn.
Mary earned a masters degree in speech and hearing therapy in 1962 from Ball State University, and was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.
Mary retired after 30 years as a speech pathologist in Noblesville and Indianapolis Washington Township schools. In retirement, Mary was president of the Brown County Retired Teachers Association, historian of the Indiana Speech and Hearing Association, and docent for Historic Pioneer Village in Nashville. She was active in the League of Women Voters, AARP Retired Teachers Association, United Methodist Women and water aerobics.
Surviors include daughter, Joan (Eudaly) Lietz; sons, J. Daniel Eudaly and George Steven (Sherry) Pelton; grandsons, James Lietz and Jon (Standish) Lietz; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Forrester Pelton, and her brothers, Frank, John and William Pangborn.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Community in the Wright Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
