Helen F. Sheeks
Helen F. (Boston) Sheeks, 95, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at her home in Indianapolis.
Helen was born July 5, 1918, in Washington, Ind., to the late John W. and Lucy G. (Edwards) Boston.
She married her loving husband, Robert R. Sheeks, on Sept. 23, 1972, in Washington, Ind. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2001, after 28 wonderful years of marriage.
Helen was a 1936 graduate of Bedford High School. She retired in 1972 after working as an administrative assistant for the Indianapolis Home Show for 34 years.
Helen was a past president of the National Association of Women in Construction, Indianapolis Chapter, a member of Greenwood Christian Church and a former member of Samaria Christian Church. She and her late husband Bob always had a great relationship with Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tenn.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and dining in fine restaurants.
Helen is survived by a niece, Barbara (Tim) Bennington of Washington; two nephews, Steve (Kathy) Boston of Indianapolis and Gary (Glenna) Myers of Washington; and special friend, Kay McClain of Indianapolis.
She was also preceded in death by her only child, Nancy Lou Penecale; one grandson, Robert Austin Penecale; one sister, Rosemary Myers; and one brother, Richard A. Boston.
The Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home-Southport Chapel, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Knott Cemetery in Bedford.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center in Morgantown.
