Dorothy (Cox) Williams, 76, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born April 15, 1937, in Dry Creek (Casey County), Ky., to Fletcher and Mayme (Glover) Cox.
She married Clyde Earl “Sonny” Williams on Aug. 14, 1954. He preceded her in passing on May 17, 1994.
She is survived by her companion, Phillip Ennis; children, Bob (Margaret) Williams, Rick (Marsha) Williams, Ann (Darryl) Weeks, Leslie Williams, Teresa (Gary) Cooper and Junior (Terry) Williams. Also surviving are grandchildren, Chris Williams, Chad (Tennille) Williams, Abby Williams, Shawn Williams, Jennifer Williams, Dustin (Amy) Weeks, Craig Weeks, Elizabeth Williams, Michael Williams, Zach Cooper, Sophie Cooper, Angel Williams, Kyle Williams, Andy Hayes and Nick Hayes; and great-grandchildren, Hailey Williams, Tyler Williams, Saphaina Williams, Holden Williams, Carly Burtrum, Joshln Burtrum and Madison Britt. She also is survived by one brother, Delmer (Linda) Cox; and one sister, Lucille (David) Coffman.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband, Sonny; grandson, Ricky Williams Jr.; sisters, Pauline Dailey and Louise Parkerson; and brother, Earl Cox.
Dorothy attended Franklin High School.
She was employed for several years at Arvin Industries in Franklin. She later was employed for many years as a cook at Greenwood Village South.
She enjoyed canning, spending time with her family and going to the casino.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson County Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
