Angae Lou Davis
Angae Lou Davis, 86, of Richmond, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
Born July 17, 1927, in Richmond to Raymond and Wilma Black Smith, Angae lived in Greens Fork and Richmond for most of her life. She was a graduate of Greens Fork High School and Ball State University.
Angae was a teacher in Fountain City, Williamsburg, Cambridge City and Richmond and for the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas. She was a social worker for Richmond Community Schools, retiring in 1990.
Angae was a member of West Richmond Friends Meeting, Psi Iota Xi sorority, Elks Ladies Golf Association and Indiana State Teachers Association.
She enjoyed golf, the “Wednesday Ladies Lunch Group” and the “Supper Club.” Angae loved traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Raymond C. Davis, to whom she was married July 29, 1950; daughter, Adriene L. (Donald) Kalugyer of Greenwood; grandchildren, Rachel and Malcolm Kalugyer of Greenwood; sister, Willodean Clinkenbeard of Richmond; nieces, including Pamela, Cheri, Cindi and Tamara Clinkenbeard; nephews and cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greens Fork South Cemetery.
