Patricia A. Miller
Patricia A. (Free) Miller, 84, of Franklin passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
She was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Conneaut, Ohio, to Victor and Helen (Prentice) Free.
She married Ralph E. Miller on July 4, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Indianapolis; and he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1987.
She was a 1946 graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and attended Purdue University.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin.
She was the 4-H leader for the Amity Booster Club for more than 15 years and was a former member of the Johnson County Extension Council.
She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge. She especially held deeply that she and her late husband started playing bridge in 1961.
She was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood.
She had been a Realtor for Jim Williams Caldwell Bankers for more than 20 years. Previously, she worked for the Johnson County Purdue Extension office.
Survivors include her children, Ralph A. (Elaine) Miller of St. Anthony, Susan M. (Don) Guinnip of Marshall, Ill., Thomas E. (Nancy) of Miller of Dallas, Robert P. (Marty) Miller of Brazil, Ind., Alice A. (Patrick) Sweeney of Indianapolis and Carol L. (Jim) Conrad of Monticello; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Victor Free, and his wife, Betty.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. A rosary service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Johnson County Community Foundation 4-H Fund in memory of Patricia A. Miller, P.O. Box 217 Franklin, IN 46131; St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive Franklin, IN 46131; or Holy Trinity Catholic Church, P.O. Box 216 Edinburgh, IN 46124.
