David A. McDonald
David A. McDonald, 77, of Greenwood, passed away Aug. 8, 2013, at the Greenwood Health & Living facility after a long battle with his health, with his family by his side.
He was born Sept. 11, 1935, to Hollis and Versie McDonald in Nashville, Tenn.
He married Marie Marsh on May 8, 1953, and the couple moved to Indianapolis.
David was employed at Navistar for many years in the machine repair department.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting and gardening, something he shared with his sons and grandsons.
David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie; and brother, Richard McDonald.
He is survived by daughter, Pam (Kevin) Foster; sons, Mike (Jeanne) and Bill (Candy) McDonald; brothers, John (Clarice) and Sam (Elaine) McDonald; and sisters, Rebecca (Bob) Vanderpool and Debbie (Steve) Hines. He had six wonderful grandchildren, David (Priscilla) Foster, Michelynne (Tim) McNeeley, Lauren and Anna McDonald, Brandon (Erin) McDonald and Brittany McDonald; and seven great-grandchildren, Ivan, Isaac, Gage, Rohan, Collins, Audrey and Anthony. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
David will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
