Kathleen Marie Rike-Huffman
Kathleen Marie Rike-Huffman, 68, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013.
Kathleen’s family is celebrating her life as a woman who was generous and fun-loving and who had a youthful and loving spirit that touched many lives. More than anything, she deeply loved her family and friends.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, where she did volunteer work.
Furthermore, she worked for many years at Wolfe and Swickward Machine Co.
A NASCAR and Colts fan, Kathy spent many a happy hour with her family watching races and games.
Born March 6, 1945, in Beech Grove, Kathy attended St. Roch grammar school and Our Lady of Grace Academy. Kathy still had close friends from those days.
Kathy married her high school sweetheart, David Ross Rike, who preceded her in death. She married her beloved husband, James Huffman, who survives her.
Also surviving Kathy is her first son, David Andrew Rike, and his wife, Sara Lee Ann Carrasco Rike; and her second son, Dennis Michael Rike, and his wife, Carla. Kathy also has nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
In addition, Kathy was one of seven daughters. One of her sisters, Marilyn Rose Wilson, preceded her in death. The other sisters are Roberta Colleen Stier, Margaret Ann Glick, Barbara Ann Schmutte, Christina Susan Genowa and Victoria Joan Cleary.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian St. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave. A prayer service will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
