Daisy Margaret (Duvall) Fitzpatrick Whitham, 96, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.

She was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Fairfield, Ill., to James Thomas and Margaret Wilsie (Meeker) Duvall.

She married Norbert Leroy Fitzpatrick. He preceded her in passing in October 1976. She later married Glen Roger Whitham, who also preceded her in passing.

Survivors include two children, Ruth (Gary) Hall and Fred (Dianna) Fitzpatrick, both of Franklin; grandchildren, Vincent Bryant Fitzpatrick, Kennadawn Fitzpatrick Callahan, Tracy Mingacci, Tina Cox, Jill Cave, Glenn Hall, Lynn Thompson and Stephanie Allander; 33 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, her husbands, seven sisters and one brother.

She attended school in Illinois.

Daisy was employed by Varynit Mills in Franklin. She later worked at the Artcraft Theatre in Franklin for several years. She was employed by the Franklin Evening Star; and after retirement, she worked well into her 80s at Franklin College in the mailroom.

She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin. She was a former member of the women’s circle at the church.

Daisy enjoyed sewing and was a wonderful cook. She loved to travel and to listen to music. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
