Richard E. Cannon
Richard E. Cannon, 58, of Greenwood, was surrounded by his family as he went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 19, 2013, after a courageous cancer battle.
Born Dec. 6, 1954, in Beech Grove, he was a graduate of Harry E. Wood High School, where he met the love of his life Sherrie Birdwell. He worked at CVS for 28 years, where he became warehouse manager on the morning shift. He cherished time spent with his family, and was an avid sports fan, especially Indiana University basketball. He was an active member of Southwood Assembly Church.
Survivors include his wife of more than 39 years, Sherrie
Cannon; daughter, Lindsey (Tony) Costa; mother, Lilly Cannon; siblings, Bill McCall, Carol Mavity, Linda Bean, Jeff Cannon; in-laws, Genevieve and Estill Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Cannon and father, Gene Cannon.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605
S. State Road 135, with the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at The Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery in Greenwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to Miles for Myeloma at IU Simon Cancer Center.
