Imogene Dolores Morgan
Imogene Dolores Morgan, 94, of Rocklane, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 19, 1919, in Willisburg, Ky., to Herbert and Dovie (Scruggs) Keeling. She married William Audley Thompson, who preceded her in death in 1989. She later married Russell A. Morgan on May 15, 1997, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2003.
She had been a secretary for Col. Roscoe Turner at the Indianapolis Airport for five years. She was a member of Rocklane Christian Church. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking and gardening.
Survivors include three granddaughters, Katherine “Kate” Girdley (Greg) Taylor of Trafalgar, Kindy Girdley (Tye Bellar) of Nashville, Tenn., and Kari Sumrall (Jeremy) of Jackson, Miss.; four great-grandchildren, Ella Taylor, Grayson Taylor, Emerson Sumrall and Alexandra Sumrall; a niece, Stephanie Penn of Los Angeles; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; a daughter, Karen Dovie Girdley on Jan. 8, 2000; a son-in-law, Alex Girdley, on July 3, 2002; and a sister, Nell Keeling.
Mr. James Girdley will conduct a service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Rocklane Cemetery near Greenwood.
