Richard Eugene McDonald
Richard Eugene McDonald, 78, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
Richard was born Sept. 24, 1934, in Franklin, to Adair and Frances LaVon (Ford) McDonald.
He married Anita Louise Phillips on Sept. 15, 1955, in Franklin; they were married for 57 years.
Richard was employed with Johnson Control in Franklin as a maintenance supervisor for 18 years, retiring in 1995.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting guns and was a gunsmith. Richard loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Anita McDonald of Franklin; four children, Rodney E. McDonald, Gregory A. (Dana) McDonald and Rhonda S. (Jerry) Montgomery, all of Franklin, and Donnita L. (Jessie) Poindexter of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Stacy, Andrew, Matthew, Michael, David and Gwendolyn; and six great-grandchildren, Colby, Kaley, Heather, Jeffery, Sean and Gaige.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adair and Frances McDonald.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Jessen Funeral Home, Franklin Chapel, 197 E. Jefferson St.
