Chance A. Schultz Sr.
Chance A. Schultz Sr., 83, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013.
He was born April 30, 1930, in Indianapolis.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He fought in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir — “Chosin Few.”
He worked as a drafting supervisor at Bell Labs (AT&T) from 1956 to 1985. Chance was a member of the Senior Keglers Bowling League and loved Indiana University basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie M. Schultz; children, Paula and Verna Schultz, Chance A. Schultz Jr., and Lorraine (Kevin) Porter; stepsons, Alex (Michelle) Small and Eddie (Tammy) Small; grandchildren, Amy Jo (Viq) Thomasson and Andrew M. (Megan) Schultz; six stepgrandchildren, Jackson, Dalton and Amber Small, and Connor, Little Ed and Rodney Powell; and great-grandchildren, Aden E. Schultz and Gabriel G. Schultz.
Chance was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Pauline Schultz; grandson, Bryant M. Porter; stepson, James Powell; half brother, Fritz Schultz; and stepbrother, Charles Schultz.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at at the funeral home. Chance will be laid to rest in Harris Cemetery in Bargersville.
