Arline Virginia Cooper
Arline Virginia Cooper, 91, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at Greenwood Village Nursing Home in Greenwood.
Arline was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Denford Phillips and Tillie Funke Phillips.
She married Dale Lindsey Cooper on Nov. 29, 1942, in Denver, Colo.; he preceded her in death on July 6, 2005.
Arline was a homemaker. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
She graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis and attended Butler University.
Her enjoyments were spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Steve (Jean) Cooper of Brookville, Wis., Larry (Susan) Cooper of Atlanta and Don (Judy) Cooper of North Vernon; one daughter, Bonnie (Pete) Mattick of Greenwood; one brother, Jack Phillips of Sarasota, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ronald Cooper; and two brothers, Denny and Richard Phillips.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 420 S. State St., North Vernon, with the Rev. Kendall Wildey officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.
