Suzanne “Suzi” Ray, 63, of Fishers, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013.

Suzi was born July 21, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to parents, Wayne R. and Edith (McFarland) Garraux. She graduated in 1967 from Southport High School in Indianapolis and attended Indiana Central University.

On Aug. 23, 1969, Suzi married Ronald Ray, and the two shared nearly 44 years together as husband and wife, co-workers and best friends. Suzi worked as secretary/treasurer for Ronald Ray & Associates Inc.

Suzi was lovingly referred to as “Doozie” or “Saint Suzi” and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She loved reading, gardening, card club, shopping with nieces and nephews, traveling with her husband and taking care of her pets.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Ray; her mother, Edith Garraux; a sister, Sandie (Rick) Willis of Greenwood; two brothers, Bob (Linda) Garraux of Lebanon and Jeff Garraux of Bloomington; mother-in-law, Armetta Ray of Speedway; sister-in-law, Diana Miller of Speedway; brother-in-law, Thomas Ray of Evansville; and sister-in-law, Susie Ray of Rocklin, Calif.

Also surviving are three nephews, eight nieces, four grandnephews, five grandnieces and two goddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne R. Garraux; and her father-in-law, William Vernon Ray.

Suzi has chosen to be cremated.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. July 23 at Geist Christian Church, 8550 Mud Creek Road, Indianapolis. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Hamilton County Humane Society, Riley Hospital for Children or the American Cancer Society.
