Charlotte Lucille Goode

Charlotte Lucille Goode, 91, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, with her family at her side.

Charlotte was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Beech Grove, to Frederick and Nina (Walls) Oelschlager. She graduated from Warren Central High School with the class of 1940.

Charlotte worked as a stenographer with the New York Railroad Co. after leaving high school and later was a homemaker and worked at Jerry’s Restaurant.

She married Henry Reid Goode on Sept. 3, 1955; and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1996.

Charlotte was an avid gardener. She also loved to watch old movies, play piano, watch birds from her back porch and study genealogy.

Charlotte is survived by her sons, Dr. Roy L. (Ruth) Goode and Dr. Joseph (Dixie) Pete; a stepson, Larry Joe (Irene) Goode; grandchildren, Dr. Vanessa (Geoff) Mahan, Erin (Elias) Maqueda, and Audri, Adam and Roy Austin Goode; stepgrandchild, Lauren Goode; great-grandchildren, Griffin Oakes, Cole and Kinley Mahan, and Anna, Maria, Logan and Lucia Maqueda; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and six sisters.

Private funeral services will be conducted at Forest Lawn Ben Franklin Mausoleum in Greenwood, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
