Lewis Sandlin, 86, died Friday, July 5, 2013. He was a resident of Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Sandlin; eight children, Roberta (Bobby) Oakes, John L. Sandlin, Jack (Lydia) Sandlin, Max Sandlin, David Sandlin, Toni Starrett, Karen Walters and Sharon (Dick) Walker; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three stepchildren, Marcia (Scott) McCluckie, Sherri Dillon and Doug (Lleena) Knight.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Smith; seven siblings; and his parents, Charles and Rosa (Lipscomb) Sandlin.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the service Monday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts have been suggested to Perry Senior Services, in care of the funeral home.
